For as long as we can remember since he moved to Inter, Manchester United have been linked with a move for Milan Skriniar.
The Slovakian centre-back’s stock has grown considerably over the past year or so, and with the Red Devils needing some extra quality in the heart of their defence, the move made sense.
Claims of big bids being made and turned down have come and gone, and Inter have tried to get their star to renew his contract throughout.
As things stand, Gazzetta dello Sport claim the Serie A side are ‘still waiting’ on him to sign a contract, which they describe as ‘anti-Manchester United’.
Whether that means they just hope Skriniar putting pen to paper would simply dissuade the Red Devils from making a future move isn’t stated, yet it’s a rather ominous way to describe a deal extension.
As things stand, the Premier League side don’t appear to be making any plans to sign anyone in January, meaning Inter have time on their side to convince Skriniar.
Should that signature not come, however, then they might start panicking.
