Manchester United are in the picture to sign Kieran Trippier in the summer window.

Faced with the possibility of losing the England international, Atlético Madrid have identified Arsenal’s Héctor Bellerín as a target.

That’s according to Marca, who add the Gunners player could arrive, if one of the three right-backs, Trippier, Šime Vrsaljko and Santiago Arias, were to leave Wanda Metropolitano.

It’s claimed none of the trio’s continuity at the club is ‘100 percent guaranteed’.

Trippier is attracting interest from Manchester United, while the La Liga winners are working to offload Vrsaljko. This situation has encouraged Los Rojiblancos to look at Bellerín and their sporting director, Andrea Berta, has followed the defender closely for a long time.

Mikel Arteta’s man is liked by Diego Simeone and Atlético’s technical leaders, but his signing will depend on several factors.

The first situation that ‘would have to occur’ is Trippier’s exit, and that remains unlikely unless United pay the fullback’s €40m release clause.

They may be able to get that down a little, but right now it’s clear Atleti would be looking at €30m+.

The second option for Bellerín to join Atlético is if Vrsaljko is sold this summer. The Croatian has a year left on his contract and the Spanish club want to make money through this sale.

In other words, unless there are movements with regards to exits, Atlético cannot sign Bellerín.
