AS Roma are set to soon start negotiating for the permanent transfer of Leeds United defender Diego Llorente.
According to outlet SiamoLaRoma, the centre-back managed to convince the Giallorossi they should try his purchase in the summer.
The website claims there’s no right to buy including in the contract, so Roma are now set to sit with Leeds and negotiate a fee.
It’s said the Giallorossi’s idea is to ‘pay a relatively low price’ for Llorente, as he doesn’t seem to be in the Whites’ plans.
Still, there’s no mention of the offer Roma are about to put on the table, or even how much Leeds will demand for the transfer.
Llorente has been highly rated at the Giallorossi, with the story pointing out he ‘fit perfectly’ at the club, is ‘highly respected’ by teammates and ‘appreciated’ by manager Daniele De Rossi.
Roma recently lost their director Tiago Pinto and are still to announce his replacement. That’s why they should wait for the new chief to arrive and then start talking to Leeds about the transfer.
