According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are looking to close in on a deal for Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier.
The Istanbul club are working to sign a right back before the Turkish Super Lig window closes on Friday, and they’ve also been linked with Rangers captain James Tavernier.
Fotomac have reported on the developments regarding Besiktas’ pursuit of a right back and state the club will hold transfer talks with the Newcastle United player in the coming days.
Since the start of the season there’s been speculation the defender could leave the Premier League side after losing his place in the starting eleven.
Besiktas are looking to take advantage of the situation and if they can get an agreement with the player, they are confident of getting a deal over the line.
Earlier today we covered reports Besiktas are also looking at the possibility of signing Tavernier from Rangers. There have been rumours throughout the summer the player could move on to find a new challenge and the Super side are said to be in talks with his agent.
It’s likely Besiktas will only bring in one high profile right back before Friday’s deadline and it look like they may have narrowed it down to the Newcastle United and Rangers player.
