In the summer, Jean-Clair Todibo arrived at West Ham United from OGC Nice on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Juventus showed keen interest, but the Premier League side were successful in beating the competition for his signature because they structured the deal in a way Nice were comfortable with.
The centre-back has made 15 league appearances this season and that includes eight starts.
According to Sportitalia, the Serie A side are keeping an eye on the West Ham player.
Alfredo Pedullà provides this information, and he claims Juve are ‘sensationally thinking’ about signing the 25-year-old on a loan deal. The journalist assumes Todibo ‘is not feeling well in England and wants to leave’ and therefore regrets picked West Ham over Juve.
Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal’s injuries and Danilo’s impending exit has seen Juventus look for defenders in this window. Sky Italia say they have rekindled their interest in the West Ham player.
Graham Potter’s side still have an obligation to make Todibo’s stay permanent, which Sky claim they will exercise in the summer.
The France international is ‘pushing’ to leave West Ham and it ‘could be decisive’ to close the deal in January. Thiago Motta’s side are looking to sign him a loan deal with an option to buy, while it’s thought West Ham would want an obligation to buy.
It’s worth noting Juventus were stung in the summer when West Ham beat them to signing Todibo, and in December the player’s agent said the defender is determined to show he can cut it in the Premier League.
This may be a natural follow on from those sour grapes, especially given the views around Todibo’s own feelings are based on assumption.
