Real Valladolid’s Juma Bah is on his way to Manchester City in the winter market.

Two days ago, Marca reported the defender will pack his bags for Manchester City once he paid the €6m termination clause.

His entourage then told Africa Foot that they finalised an agreement with Manchester City and Bah will sign a long-term deal at the Etihad. The report also said the 18-year-old will go on loan to RC Lens in this window.

Later that day, Real Valladolid issued a statement that the Spanish football association have notified them the centre-back had paid his €6m clause. There were critical of his decision, which he took hours after Manchester City opened negotiations.

The La Liga side also suggested legal action was possible.

Real Valladolid spokesperson Jorge Santiago spoke to Radioestadio Noche to explain Bah’s situation, and Onda Cera have relayed his comments. They suspect someone is behind the whole saga as they feel manner in which the player is forcing an exit isn’t usual.

“The player didn’t have that €6m that has been deposited with the Federation, we understand that there is someone behind it and it could be City. Taking away players like that is something that doesn’t usually happen,” he said.

“We had offers for him that also left us with the player on loan until the end of the season.”

On Real Valladolid’s statement, Santiago explained: “It is a position of indignation and anger at the way the situation has turned out and the lack of commitment to all the love we have given him since he joined the team.

“It was verbally agreed with the club and on January 1st the purchase was made official so that he would be paid more and the clause, which was set at €6m, was raised.

“The club he came from still kept their word, but his agent didn’t because he demanded from the very first moment to be paid 50% of the amount of a possible sale that exceeded the €6m.”

It’ll be interesting to see if and how Manchester City respond to Real Valladolid.
