As Bruno Fernandes’ great form for Manchester United continues, the Red Devils should soon be spending a few more million on his signing.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola brings a story today saying Sporting are ‘rubbing their hands’ as they wait for more money from this transfer.

Besides paying an initial amount of €55m for the midfielder back in January, the Old Trafford side agreed to a series of bonuses which are about to start being triggered.

Bruno Fernandes has already made 18 appearances for Manchester United, and the club have at least four more games to play this season. If the midfielder reaches 20 matches, then Sporting receive €5m.

The other clause is about qualification for the Champions League. Back in January, when the clubs closed a deal, it didn’t seem so likely that the Red Devils would finish the season in the Premier League’s top four.

But they now only depend on themselves to get a place in the competition, and in case it happens, that’s €5m more they must pay Sporting.

Even though Bruno’s signing becomes more expensive, that’s not something Manchester United should be concerned about, since his impact in the team has been huge since January.
