Gianluca Di Marzio reports Celtic’s Gustaf Lagerbielke is back on US Lecce’s radar, after Brendan Rodgers’ side blocked his exit in the winter market.
The centre-back wanted to leave Celtic for the Serie A side in January and this was revealed by Lecce technical director Pantaleo Corvino back in February.
Later that month, lawyer Daniele Piraino said Celtic had initially agreed to let the 24-year-old leave in January, before stopping his transfer.
Di Marzio now states Lecce are looking to bolster their defence before the window closes. The Sweden international has been included in their list and they have ‘returned to Celtic’ to sign him.
He further adds the Italian club are looking to take him on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The Bhoys man has also caught the attention of SC Heerenveen and KV Mechelen. Three days ago, the Eredivisie side’s general manager, Ferry de Haan, confirmed his side’s interest in Lagerbielke.
Earlier today, Gazet van Antwerpen reported the Jupiler Pro League side remain optimistic of beating Heerenveen for the Swede’s signature.
Di Marzio makes no mention of Mechelen, but claims Lagerbielke ‘prefers’ joining Lecce over Heerenveen.
