Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a report from the Netherlands that stated Rangers had made the first move to try and sign Danilo Pereira da Silva for Michael Beale.

The Feyenoord striker has become a target for the Ibrox side in recent days, and a bid was said to have been placed to try and convince them to sell.

However, Rangers achieved anything but that, as Voetbal International bring the latest on the matter.

They report that while Michael Beale’s side did in fact ‘officially report’ to Feyenoord for the Brazilian, the Eredivisie have since ‘refused the offer’.

In fact, the money put on the table by Rangers ‘does not come close’ to what Arne Slot and co. would want for the player, who scored 14 goals in all competitions last season.

That means that, ‘for the time being’, the striker will stay where he is, and it’s pointed out he also ‘doesn’t have to leave’.

Despite losing his spot to Santiago Gimenez as the season went on, he still managed to have a good season and remains an ‘ideal striker’ for the Dutch side.

That being said, the club ‘will continue to listen if clubs come forward with the right offer’, meaning the Rangers will now have to up their bid if they wish to gift Danilo to Beale at Ibrox next season.
