AC Milan have received ‘positive signals’ from Tottenham over a deal for defender Japhet Tanganga.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say that Thursday’s meeting with Fabio Paratici was a positive one for all involved.
They report that Tottenham have opened up to the idea of a loan with a right of redemption for the defender, although an agreement on the figures of the deal is ‘evidently missing’.
A loan with a right to buy is the formula that Milan want, having enjoyed success on that front with the likes of Fikayo Tomori over the last few years.
They want to repeat the trick with Tanganga, and the talks with Tottenham have been positive, according to Corriere, but the final blow is yet to be sunk.
And it is unlikely that will happen quickly either, with the newspaper explaining that the Rossoneri’s management are being careful with the remaining money they have in their budget.
They want to fill several positions, so don’t want to spend too much elsewhere and risk not having funds for other areas.
They are, therefore, analysing their options and looking at alternative options, including different ideas to Tanganga.
