After months and months of speculation and ridiculous price tags, Riyad Mahrez finally left Leicester City and signed for Manchester City, where he’ll be playing under Pep Guardiola next season.

The deal was said to be closed around the £60m mark, and was done relatively early, allowing the Foxes plenty of time to strengthen their team accordingly for the new season.

However, they won’t be receiving all of that money, as Paris-Normandie in France report that Le Havre, the club they bought Mahrez from, are entitled to 15% of the transfer fee, meaning they will receive just over €10m.

For a club currently in Ligue 2, the French second-tier, that is a huge sum, especially since they sold him for just €500k in the first place back in 2014.

Voted the Premier League’s Player of the Year in 2015-16, Mahrez has never quite recaptured the form from his title winning season with Leicester, but remained a prolific asset for the Foxes, scoring 12 goals and picking up 11 assists in 36 league appearances last year.
