Club Atlético Lanús’ Julio Soler has ended up on Liverpool’s transfer agenda.
The English press reported about this at the weekend and it has reached Argentina, more specifically TyC Sports, who share their own take on this case.
Soler made 21 appearances this year, and represented Argentina at the Paris Olympics, where he played four matches.
The left-back has caught the attention of Liverpool, who have taken further steps to try and sign him.
It’s claimed the Argentine club’s leaders have ‘received a call’ from the Reds, to ask about the 19-year-old.
The fullback’s deal lasts until December 2026 and TyC Sports state Lanús value him at $15m [£11.75m]. If the Premier League side were to make a formal offer with this figure, there’s a ‘good chance the operation will be completed’ in this window.
At this moment in time, Liverpool have only made contact with the South American club to ask about the conditions needed to sign Soler.
Arne Slot has Andrew Robertson and Kōstas Tsimikas as the two left-backs at his disposal. If Liverpool were to still sign Soler, he would find it difficult to make it to the first team, unless one of those there [likely Tsimikas] were to leave Anfield.
