Illan Meslier has been linked with an exit from Leeds United on and off since he emerged as one to watch at the club.
His progress hasn’t been as fast as some would have expected and it would be no surprise if there’s a temptation to move elsewhere to try a fresh experience.
The 24-year-old played nearly every match for Leeds United last season and has a contract lasting until June 2026. Transfermarkt values the goalkeeper at €18m, and it’s unclear what the Whites would expect.
FootMercato now reports that Marseille are keen on the goalkeeper. Roberto De Zerbi is set to be their new manager and work is ongoing to shape the squad for him.
They’ve been following Meslier and are ‘ready to pounce’ for the Leeds United stopper, although there’s no indication of what the Ligue 1 side want to offer.
There’s also no indication of the player’s thoughts regarding the transfer, but a move to Marseille would surely be tempting.
