The talks between Nottingham Forest and Santos for the transfer of Angelo were reported in the final days of the transfer window.
The Reds were said to be trying to sign the winger on a loan deal, with a buying option worth €18m, triggered in case they avoid relegation.
It was claimed that the Brazilian side were fine with that bid, as long as there was a €1m payment for the temporary move.
However, reports claimed Nottingham Forest’s new attempt was never made formal, and Angelo ended up staying at Santos. And now, there’s another club who are interested in signing him.
That’s Flamengo, who, according to journalist Venê Casagrande, are using an intermediary to help the talks. It’s claimed that even though the operation is considered ‘difficult’, they’ll still give it a try.
On a Youtube video, Casagrande also mentions that Nottingham Forest made an attempt to sign the youngster in January.
Now their failure gives Flamengo a chance of landing the 18-year-old, since the Brazilian window remains open.
But the truth is that with Santos demanding that much for a sale, it becomes unlikely that any local rival would pay that, and the Reds should have another chance in the coming months.
