As the Portuguese press continues to cover Islam Slimani’s situation at Leicester City, there are two interesting takes on Thursday morning.

One of them comes from newspaper O Jogo. They claim that Sporting yesterday increased their offer to get the player on a loan deal, and are now ready to pay €2m for the spell.

But although the Lions want to pay a share of his salary, the offers from Besiktas and Fenerbahce are still better. The latter, for example, can afford 100% of Slimani’s wages during the period.

So Slimani may want to return to his old club, but Leicester City are not really concerned about it, and could choose the best offer.

Newspaper Record also brings some news. They say that Saudi club Al Hilal are now also interested in signing the striker.

The club is trained by Slimani’s former boss Jorge Jesus, and are now making a new attempt after being turned down by the player.

Record claims that club president Sami Al-Jaber is currently in London to negotiate with the striker, and will only speak to Leicester in case Slimani accepts the move. It’s still not clear if they want a loan or a permanent transfer.

The newspaper adds that the Foxes are demanding €20m for the striker, but are still to receive an offer matching that amount.
