Wolverhampton Wanderers are close to completing a deal for Libertad midfielder Enso González, with the club’s president confirming the reports.
That’s according to ABC in Paraguay, who carry comments from Rubén Di Tore, who has confirmed that a deal is imminent.
Reports in England this week have indicated that Wolves are keen on the youngster, with scouts having noticed him and recommended that they make a move.
That’s now happened, and a deal has been advancing quickly for the 18-year-old Paraguayan, who will become the latest in a long line of South Americans to make the leap to the Premier League.
That’s at least according to Di Tore, who says that negotiations between his club and Wolves should be concluded in the next 24 hours.
“God willing, in 24 hours we would be finalising,” ABC report him saying in a chat with Cardinal Deportivo.
“Yes, I can tell you that the negotiations are advanced. There is a percentage that remains for the club. The transfer window closes on September 1st and that made everything speed up.”
They add that, due to confidentiality reasons, the percentage of the player that Libertad will keep on the player or the price that Wolves will be paying is not yet known.
However, that is set to change ‘in the next few hours’ when the move to Wolves is expected to become official.
