According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray have taken an interest in Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
The Turkish champions have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks as they prepare for Champions League football next season.
Galatasaray are known to be chasing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg as he looks to move on this summer, and now Kovacic has become a surprise target.
Fotomac report Gala will step up in their efforts to sign the Manchester City player after identifying the Crotian in February. An offer is being prepared, and they expect to sit down with the Premier League champions in the coming days.
It’s claimed if Galatasaray fail to get an agreement with their proposed offer, they will look to get a loan deal done for the 30-year-old. There are no reports revealing what the Super Lig will initially offer the Blues.
Kovacic only joined Manchester City from Chelsea last summer and made 46 appearances in his debut season. He’s contracted to the club until June 2027.
