Following all the reports from the Italian media claiming Antonio Conte could take his first job after Tottenham Hotspur by taking charge of Napoli, it seems the Serie A side could target a Spurs player to be one of his first arrivals.
According to Radio Kiss Kiss (which admittedly sounds ridiculous but has close connections to the Italian club), relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, Napoli are interested in signing Dejan Kulusevski from the London side this summer.
It’s claimed that the winger is a player who Conte ‘greatly appreciates’, so Napoli are preparing to enter negotiations with Tottenham and the winger himself.
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is expected to put up a great effort to please the new manager, so he’ll ‘do anything’ to get that type of signing done.
Kulusevski has six goals and three assists in 30 appearances for Tottenham this season. He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €55m, and it’s not yet known how much Spurs would demand for his transfer.
The winger is also expecting his compatriot Lucas Bergvall to join him at the club next season, so maybe that would be a reason for him to push against an exit.
This all looks like a long shot for Napoli.
