Despite Manchester United seemingly losing out to Inter Milan when it comes to the signing of Benjamin Pavard, that doesn’t mean a new centre-back won’t be coming in.
This is what L’Equipe hint at on Wednesday, as they look at some of the movements that could take place in Ligue 1 before the end of the transfer window.
The main target now for Manchester United is Jean-Clair Todibo, currently contracted to OGC Nice in the south of France.
The defender was already being worked on alongside the Pavard dossier, with the same level of insistence, and now their efforts appear to be fully focused on the 23-year-old.
L’Equipe explain that Nice, ‘where the exit of Jean-Clair Todibo’ to Manchester United ‘is looming’, are now looking for a centre-back to potentially replace him.
The name of Stade Rennais’ Christopher Wooh has been mentioned, but he’s just one of the players being looked at by the Ligue 1 side.
In short, Nice are almost expecting Todibo to head to Manchester United before the end of the transfer window, and are already preparing for an exit.
