Over the last few days, Clinton N’Jie’s potential move to Marseille has wobbled more than at any point before.
The former Lyon forward has already passed his medical examinations, and a fee has been agreed between Tottenham and Marseille. There were claims N’Jie is having second thoughts about a move to Marseille, and it now appears there could be further delay.
According to L’Equipe on Friday, former Marseille president Vincent Labrune, and new president Gunter Jacob, visited N’Jie at his London home, but the Cameroon international isn’t convinced yet.
L’Equipe say N’Jie was promised possible signings including Javier Manquillo, who has signed for Sunderland, and the club has failed to sign the players which N’Jie was led to believe would arrive.
N’Jie is also believed to be disappointed by Marseille’s results in the opening games. They have one point from their opening two league fixtures, and lost to Guingamp.
N’Jie apparently doesn’t feel pushed out of Tottenham, despite knowing there’s competition for places, and hasn’t responded positively to Marseille. L’Equipe say the player is also in contact with Lyon, and that there is still a possibility of a transfer.
The 23-year-old has until the end of the transfer window to decide his future, and it doesn’t look to good for Marseille at the moment.
