In the past couple of weeks, the Spanish media started having many stories about Real Betis’ possibility of keeping Marc Roca from Leeds United, as his loan at the La Liga side expires at the end of the season.

On Tuesday morning, we saw Mucho Deporte talked about the ‘risk’ of his return to Elland Road, because a good amount of money was needed to trigger the purchase clause.

It seems, however, that Betis are still hopeful of finding a deal with Leeds, as El Chiringuito now reports the start of negotiations.

According to their journalist Gonzalo Tortosa, the Spanish club have just ‘opened talks’ for a permanent deal.

For now, there are no details on how much Betis want to spend on the purchase, or even how much Leeds demand for the move.

Roca has been an important player for the La Liga side this season, with 18 appearances made, and even has four goals and one assist.

Transfermarkt currently value him at €10m, and we shall see how much Betis are willing to spend to keep him.
