It seems that Stade Rennais’ chase for Southampton defender Jan Bednarek is still on.
As outlet Ouest-France today shares a story on the Ligue 1 side’s transfer plan, they bring a few names who could still be attempted this month.
It’s said that even though Rennes have abandoned the pursuit of Monaco’s Guillermo Maripán, the interest in the Southampton player continues.
The club are looking to strengthen their defence before the end of the month and Bednarek is one of the serious options on the table.
Stade Rennais’ interest in the Southampton has been reported since the start of the year, with the French media breaking the news about his potential ‘sensational‘ move.
It’s been said that the Saints would like to make at least €10m with the sale, and the French club now seem to be reflecting on whether to spend that amount on his arrival.
Bednarek has been an important player for Southampton this season, with 25 appearances made, and it doesn’t seem like Stade Rennais would be able to find a discount in the talks with the Saints.
