VfB Stuttgart are in negotiations with Brighton and Hove Albion over a deal for midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, but those talks are proving to be difficult.
That’s according to BILD, who say the German side aren’t planning to push things forwards until deadline day… tomorrow.
The newspaper backs up claims from elsewhere in Germany that Stuttgart are planning a ‘real midfield coup’ at the end of the window and are interested in bringing Dahoud back to the Bundesliga.
They would like to loan the midfielder from Brighton until the summer and then sign him on a permanent basis at that point, but negotiations with the Seagulls are ‘proving difficult’.
Why that is the case isn’t made clear but a decision on the transfer won’t come until tomorrow, ‘shortly before’ the window closes at 6pm. Quite why they’d want to do that is anyone’s guess, perhaps it is a pressure tactic to get Brighton to sanction the move.
Either way talks are underway and coach Sebastian Hoeneß is keen on Dahoud arriving as he thinks he would be an ideal complement to what they already have in midfield.
It seems they need to work to convince Brighton and are hoping they can do that at some point on deadline day.
