Fulham are one of the clubs in the mix to sign FC Nordsjælland’s Jacob Steen Christensen in the summer.
Operating in the middle of the pitch, he has registered three assists from 20 matches in all competitions this season.
The 21-year-old’s performances have caught the attention of Fulham, Atalanta and Spezia.
That’s according to Calciomercato, whose report mainly focuses on Atalanta’s desire to sign the Denmark international.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side view Jacob Steen Christensen as a potential target to replace Teun Koopmeiners at the club, in the event the Dutchman were to be sold in the summer.
It’s further claimed Atalanta have to ‘beat the competition’ from their Serie A counterpart and Fulham to secure the midfielder’s services.
Despite Marco Silva’s side and Spezia in the mix, Atalanta find themselves in an advantageous position due to their strong interest in the Dane.
Jacob Steen Christensen’s contract expires in June and the report states he has no desire to sign a new deal at FC Nordsjælland. Therefore, he will be made available for free in the next window.
The report doesn’t mention whether Atalanta will still try to sign the player if Koopmeiners were to continue at the club.
