Brazilian side Internacional have reportedly made an approach for Liverpool star Roberto Firmino.

According to UOL, as soon as the club knew about the player’s intention to leave the Reds, they went to ‘seek information to eventually open talks’.

However, reporter Bruno Andrade says that was only a ‘short and fast approach’, as Internacional were told the negotiation won’t happen right now, as the player has ‘other plans’ for when he leaves Liverpool.

It’s said Firmino is well regarded in Europe, ‘especially in England and Germany’, and is also keen on listening to offers from Spain, France and Italy.

Firmino’s departure from Liverpool was confirmed by Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday. The coach said he respects the striker’s decision to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer.

This season, the striker has 10 goals and five assists in 27 appearances. That may not be little playing time at a big club like Liverpool, but was apparently not enough to convince the player to stay, as he’s set to seek protagonism somewhere else.

The player was recently also linked to Brazilian side Corinthians, but local reports had already claimed his priority is to stay in Europe, where he has ‘six heavy offers’.
