Turkish side Besiktas are reportedly on the move to sign Lyanco from Southampton this summer.
The news comes from Brazil, where outlet UOL reports that the Istanbul club have recently submitted an offer for the centre-back.
According to the report, Besiktas’ bid is still below what Southampton demand for the player. That doesn’t mean they aren’t getting the signing done, though.
In the past few days, the Brazilian media has been reporting that Vasco da Gama are interested in signing Lyanco. Their idea was to get him on a loan with a buying clause depending on certain conditions.
Now UOL says that Besiktas’ model pleases Southampton more. That’s why it becomes more likely that Lyanco heads to Turkey instead of Brazil.
The story doesn’t say how much the Saints currently demand for Lyanco. They paid €7.5m to sign him from Torino in 2021, and Transfermarkt currently values him at €8m.
The defender made 30 appearances for Southampton last season, and he’ll now be looking for prominence and a higher standard than the Championship.
