Southampton are ‘considering’ an offer from Trabzonspor for forward Mislav Oršić, who have taken ‘serious steps’ to try and secure his signature.
That’s according to Karadeniz, who say Oršić ‘does not want to stay’ in England due to Southampton’s relegation to the Championship.
He is ‘warm to the offer’ from the Turkish side who have presented a loan offer to Southampton that includes an option to sign him permanently for €4.5m at the end of the season.
According to Karadeniz, they want to finalise any transfers into the squad before the start of pre-season and having already reached an agreement with Panathinaikos’ Dimitrios Kourbelis, have now turned their attention to Oršić.
They have been negotiating with Southampton ‘for a while’, who is one of the students of manager Nenad Bjelica, and have now taken ‘serious steps’ to getting a deal over the line.
An agreement is already ‘settled’ with Oršić for the move to happen and he is open to the switch if Southampton agree to it. The Saints are currently ‘evaluating’ the offer of a loan deal with a €4.5m purchase clause included.
