As Bruno Guimarães prepares for Brazil’s debut in the Copa América tonight, he continues to be surrounded by transfer rumours, and UOL today has a new story on his future.
According to the outlet, the Newcastle United star is wanted by Al-Nassr, who placed him on a list of potential signings for this summer.
The Saudi side reportedly made an approach to get more information on what it’d take to sign him from the Magpies.
There have been no further movements, though, and UOL says Newcastle are still to receive their formal offer for Guimarães.
The report points out that the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City also made recent approaches for the 26-year-old.
Guimarães’ contract with Newcastle includes a £100m release clause, but that’s only valid until today, and it seems unlikely someone will trigger that.
Still, with the Magpies having to worry about PSR, it can’t be completely ruled out that they’ll still negotiate the Brazilian’s exit in the coming weeks.
With the player currently in the United States, he’s certainly watching out for what’s happening in Europe.
Moving to a Saudi side before being loaned back in January? Now that would cause a fuss.
