Turkish club Beşiktaş have not cut off contact with Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayındır. They will try to sign him in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Fotomaç. The Turkish outlet report the Beşiktaş management will try to finalise a deal for the summer after failing in January.

Bayındır looks set to leave Manchester United in the near future after slipping down the pecking order at Old Traffor. He had found himself as number one at stages last season while Andre Onana struggled.

But the impressive performances of Senne Lammens since his arrival in the summer has changed that. He’s now very many number two at best under Michael Carrick.

January transfer window interest

That led to interest in him during the January transfer window. Sport Witness covered two separate reports about his future.

The first actually came back in November. It stated that Beşiktaş were interested. The goalkeeper could be on his way back to his homeland if they get their way.

Then, at the end of the transfer window, Sport Witness then covered a report which stated Manchester United had blocked the exit at the last minute. They are, seemingly, leaving any business until the summer.

Now Fotomaç report that Beşiktaş intend to come back for the Manchester United goalkeeper in the summer.

They have not severed contact with him but rather maintained it. Instead, their plans is to finalise a deal in the summer by ‘pushing the limits’ during the summer window. It seems their plan is to force as good a deal as possible out of Manchester United.

Exit makes sense

There will perhaps be helps from Bayindir on that front. His time at Old Trafford has not been a happy one, with just 17 appearances in all competitions to his name. He’s conceded 31 goals in those and kept just three clean sheets.

Primarily a back up since day one, he’s firmly behind Senne Lammens now and unlikely to replace him if he stays fit. A return to Türkiye would make sense, and it seems Beşiktaş want to make it happen.
