According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce will look to sell defender Diego Carlos this summer despite only signing the Brazilian in January.

The 32-year-old signed for Fener from Aston Villa during the last transfer window. He had been a used member of Unai Emery’s squad but was allowed to leave.

However, his move to Istanbul hasn’t gone to plan, mainly due to injury, and Ajanspor report he will be offloaded by the Yellow Canaries at the end of the season.

It’s claimed Fenerbahce’s hierarchy have held meetings with regards to their transfer plans for this summer and they are keen to sell the former Aston Villa player.

Since his arrival in Istanbul the central defender has played just 188 minutes under Jose Mourinho and has missed a total of 15 games. Fener doesn’t see his injury issues going away and therefore want to replace him ahead of next season.

Carlos has also had injury problems this season with Aston Villa after a foot issue ruled him out for a few weeks towards the end of his time with the Premier League club.

Fenerbahce clear problem will be finding a buyer.
