Dukuz Eylul today shares an interesting story on the talks between Southampton and Trabzonspor for the permanent transfer of Paul Onuachu.

The outlet writes that the Turkish club are very much convinced of buying the striker, who has nine goals and three assists in 15 appearances for the club.

What needs to be discussed is the transfer formula, as Southampton owners may want to involve their partner club Göztepe in the deal.

It’s claimed that when the clubs negotiated in the summer, there was a possibility of a €5m fee, with two Trabzonspor players going to Göztepe.

Now it’s said that Southampton are making a request of €12m to let Onuachu leave for good, and Göztepe would then also have the ‘right to buy’ some players from the Turkish side.

It all sounds like a confusing situation, especially because the Saints are significantly raising their request because of the striker’s great start at Trabzonspor .

That isn’t something strange for those clubs, though, because when Mislav Orsic left Southampton for the Turkish club, Taha Altıkardeş was sent to Göztepe in the same negotiation, involving all three clubs.
