Serge Aurier has lost his place to Matt Doherty in Tottenham Hotspur’s starting lineup in the Premier League this season, with the 27-year-old so far being restricted to one appearance each in the Europa League qualifiers and the EFL Cup.
With four and a bit days left for the window to close, the right-back continues to draw attention from European clubs.
According to Foot Mercato, Lyon ‘would like to attract’ the Ivory Coast international after losing Rafael and Kenny Tete to İstanbul Başakşehir and Fulham respectively.
Rudi Garcia is left with Léo Dubois as the only recognised right-back in the squad, and therefore, signing a new player in the same position cannot be ruled out, even if Sinaly Diomandé has been used there.
The former Paris Saint-Germain defender, who also has a ‘very concrete interest’ from AC Milan, is not ‘necessarily excited’ about the possibility of joining Lyon.
Any club interested in signing Aurier will have met the demands of José Mourinho’s side and according to the report, Tottenham have set the fullback’s price tag at €20m.
