One of the big surprises of the World Cup, Azzedine Ounahi has impressed every manager and watcher throughout the tournament.

Currently at Angers SCO in France, it’s claimed that Leicester City have taken a strong interest in the Morocco international, with a €45m bid ready.

That will have to wait until at least after Saturday, when he will face Croatia in the third place playoff, where he will be determined to ensure his country enter the history books even further if possible.

Still, Leicester’s desire to sign him has done the rounds in Europe, with Italy the latest affected by it, since Inter were also interested in signing the midfielder.

This comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, who explain that the Serie A side ‘had arrived first’, but a ‘simple contact with the French side clarified the situation’.

That’s because they were told of the €45m intent from Leicester, which now makes ‘the road impractical’ for anyone else to come forward for him.

With the Foxes expecting to lose Youri Tielemans in the near future, none of this should come as a surprise, really.
