Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso impressed for Villarreal during his loan spell in the second half of the last season.
The Yellow Submarine are keen to sign him again this summer. Apart from the 26-year-old, they also like his Spurs teammate, Tanguy Ndombele.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who state the La Liga side have their eyes set on the Tottenham duo to bolster their midfield for the new season.
Antonio Conte has left Lo Celso and the Frenchman out of his plans at the north London club.
It’s said ‘work is being done’ by Unai Emery’s side to sign both the Argentina international and the former Lyon man on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The newspaper adds it could be that finally a temporary deal with a mandatory obligation to buy will be chosen, if certain set conditions are met.
Over in Argentina, Tyc Sports journalist Gastón Edul states Lo Celso is about to continue at Villarreal.
Fiorentina are credited with an interest in the South American and it needs to be seen whether the Serie A side will spoil Villarreal’s efforts to sign Lo Celso.
