Following reports from Brazil which said Palmeiras are interested in signing Carlos Vinícius from Fulham, there’s now a reason for the Portuguese media to talk about that.
A story from newspaper O Jogo says Benfica are watching the situation and hoping that the Whites do accept to sell the centre-forward soon.
The reason for it is that when selling Carlos Vinícius to Fulham back in 2022, the Eagles made sure to keep 50% of a future sale.
Benfica should indeed increase their hopes of making some money soon, because recent reports said that Palmeiras, Fenerbahce, Olympiacos, Sevilla and Valencia all made approaches for the player.
Carlos Vinícius has three goals in 12 appearances for Fulham this season, and is one of the centre-forwards trying to find a place in Marco Silva’s attack.
For those wondering why Benfica got 50% of a future sale, that’s because they accepted to sell him to the Whites for just €5m.
Now the Portuguese side could benefit from it, as long as the Whites manage to negotiate his sale for a reasonable transfer fee.
