Earlier this week, reports in the British press mentioned Watford have an interest in bringing Ashley Young back to the club in the next market.

The Hornets chances of signing the 35-year-old have also been discussed in the Italian media.

Having joined Inter Milan from Manchester United in January 2020, the 35-year-old is expected to return to England when his contract at the San Siro expires at the end of this season.

That’s according to Sport Mediaset and their report’s partial title states: ‘Young towards Watford’.

Within the report, it’s explained the winger turned fullback is likely ‘not to renew’ his contract with the Serie A side in order to seal a return to the ‘club of his heart’; Watford.

Xisco Muñoz’s side are second in the Championship with 82 points after 41 games, seven points ahead of third placed Swansea City.

Watford need 10 points out of their last five matches in order to confirm their promotion to the Premier League.

Young has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season for Antonio Conte’s side. He could continue to feature regularly next season at Watford, if he decides to return to Vicarage Road in the summer.
