Feyenoord have not given up on a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno, who they see as an ideal replacement for Quilindschy Hartman.
That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by Voetbal 4 U, who report that Feyenoord and director of football Dennis te Kloese are moving quickly as Hartman closes in on a move to Burnley.
They explain that Bueno is the top candidate for Feyenoord to replace Hartman, after impressing on loan from Wolves last season.
He is seen as a professional with the right mentality and quality. Manager Robin van Persie also believes he is the ideal left-back for his game plan.
However, a deal is not seen as easy. That’s because Wolves recently sold Rayan Aït-Nouri to Manchester City, which could open up a spot for Bueno at Molineux. Indeed, a report yesterday stated that Vitor Pereira intends to use him. Feyenoord’s chances were seen as ‘nil’.
Voetbal International, though, insist that Feyenoord will try anyway. They are hopeful that Wolves will cooperate in transfer negotiations.
Their chances of signing the 22-year-old are still slim, but it seems they haven’t quite given up just yet.
