On Tuesday, we relayed news from Italy that West Ham United have started negotiations with Juventus over a potential deal for Denis Zakaria in the summer window.
The Serie A side want to get rid of the midfielder who was on loan at Chelsea last season.
Tutto Juve state that as well as West Ham, Zakaria has suitors in France, where RC Lens are also looking to sign him in this window.
The French club are looking to bolster their squad after qualifying for the Champions League and have identified the 26-year-old as a target for midfield. The report states Lens have offered €15m to the Turin club for the Switzerland international.
It’s claimed Lens’ offer is similar to the one Juve have ‘already received’ from West Ham. Both these proposals are short of the €20m fee requested by the Old Lady to sanction the player’s sale.
At Chelsea, Zakaria was used as a defensive midfielder and also in the middle of the pitch last season. If West Ham were to secure his services, the Swiss could replace Declan Rice, who’s set to leave the Europa Conference League winners in this window.
