Following the announcement from Mino Raiola that Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United would be coming to an end sooner rather than later, rumours have appeared aplenty.
Most have sent the midfielder to his former club Juventus, with whom the agent said his client still has good relations, but there’s also Real Madrid.
It’s no secret Pogba would love to play for the Spanish giants at some point in his career, and while he still has time for two more transfers in his career, the timing couldn’t be better.
With a contract at Old Trafford expiring in 2022, next summer would be the last chance for Ed Woodward to get some money for his star.
That being said, there’s the problem of Florentino Pérez, who has never appeared overly thrilled with the idea of signing Pogba, nor does he particularly want to deal with Raiola.
This comes from Calciomercato.it, who claim the relationship between the Real Madrid president and the player’s agent is ‘non-idyllic’.
Add to that the ‘cost of the deal’, and it’s an area Pérez isn’t keen to delve in.
He’d rather spend it on Eduardo Camavinga as well as the dream Mbappé, with the Paris Saint-Germain star ‘the only possible monster investment that would be planned in 2021’ from Madrid’s end.
This, therefore, gives Juventus a ‘clear pathway’, who will ‘have to find a way to make ends meet before the attack’, which remains a not so easy task.
