That’s because the player is just a few appearances away from triggering the option to buy in the loan deal, and everything points towards that happening.
The latest from Turkey on the West Ham man’s situation comes from journalist Gokmen Oscan, relayed by VOLE’s Twitter account.
They explain Besiktas are ‘getting ready’ to pay the Hammers for the defender’s permanent transfer, with €2.2m the agreed fee.

That amount ‘will be paid in four instalments’ to West Ham, and the player ‘will earn €1.3m/year’ for the next three years when he enters his new contract with the Süper Lig side.
Masuaku originally transferred to the Premier League side back in 2016, when they paid Olympiakos €7.1m for his services.
He has stayed with the Hammers since, making 128 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and assisting another 10.
This season has seen him impress with Besiktas, for whom he has two goals and three assists in 23 appearances.
