Among the many outlets who today reported West Ham United’s offer for Lyon midfielder Lucas Paquetá, there was Brazilian website UOL.
There, journalist Bruno Andrade wrote that the Hammers’ bid is worth £35m plus £8m in potential bonus payments. It was claimed that the player’s agents are in London until Friday to ‘speed up’ the transfer.
It turns out the same reporter is now back with another story in this case, this time claiming that Lyon are already preparing themselves in case Paquetá actually moves to West Ham.
Bruno Andrade says the French side already ‘study’ using part of that money as an investment, and Flamengo’s João Gomes is one of the names on their list.
In case that happens, then the Brazilian side would make two sets of profit, since they’re getting a percentage of Paquetá’s transfer as well.
During a press conference today, West Ham boss David Moyes confirmed that the club placed a bid for Paquetá. Even though he didn’t want to talk about how negotiations are going, the coach made sure to sends compliments to the Brazil international.
