FC Utrecht want to sign Sam Lammers from Glasgow Rangers this month, seeing him as the striker that the club needs.

That’s according to Dennis van Bergen of Algemeen Dagblad, who say the Dutch side have set their sights on the 26-year-old.

The newspaper reports that Lammers is currently not assured of a starting role under Philippe Clément at Rangers, particularly with the arrival of Fabio Silva at Ibrox.

That’s alerted Utrecht, who are on the hunt for a replacement for Anthony Descotte, with current options Isac Lidber and Mats Seuntjens not able to prove themselves either.

They’re now exploring the idea of signing Lammers from Rangers, knowing he is behind the likes of Silva, Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Kemar Roofe in the pecking order at Ibrox.

No agreement has been reached between the Domstedelingen and the forward at this moment in time, although Rangers are willing to loan out Lammers this month.

Thus, it appears there is a deal there to be done if they can convince the striker, who has had previously spells in the Netherlands with PSV and SC Heerenveen, which have seemingly convinced Utrecht to move for him this month.
