PSV Eindhoven do not have a purchase option on Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva, but there is a chance he will remain at the club beyond the end of this season.
That’s according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who says that ‘intention has been expressed’ for the player to remain in the Netherlands beyond his current loan deal.
Silva joined PSV on loan today after breaking a loan deal with Anderlecht to make the move to the Eredivisie until the end of the season.
He had been with the Belgian side since the summer after electing to temporarily depart Wolves in search of regular playing time.
An apparent falling out with Anderlecht’s management has led to an early departure, though, with PSV moving quickly to sign him until the end of the season.
Elfrink reports that deal is only valid until the summer and PSV ‘does not have an option to buy’ included in it.
They are also not paying a rental fee to Wolves and have not paid a fine to Anderlecht, despite reports stating that they had.
Silva will therefore stay until June, but ‘the intention has been expressed’ for the two to possibly work together for longer if things go well between now and the end of the season.
It’s therefore up to Silva to make a success of this deal if he wishes to remain for long, otherwise he will be going back to Wolves in June.
