Mamadou Sakho sees his Crystal Palace contract expire at the end of the current season, and that’s inevitably leading to links with other clubs.

The 30-year-old has only managed 275 minutes of Premier League football so far this season and has increasingly found himself out of the picture under Roy Hodgson.

His last senior appearance was five minutes against Fulham in October, and he’s been pushed so far out that an exit in January wouldn’t be a surprise.

France’s Foot Mercato report Nice ‘explore the track’ to signing the Crystal Palace man in the current market. Sakho still has a high profile in France and is seen as a good market opportunity for the winter window.

That’s caught Nice’s attention given they’re without Dante for a prolonged period, and haven’t been impressed by their other squad options. Wanting a player with experience and someone who can help guide younger players in their squad, it’s no surprise that Nice are ‘studying’ the option of signing Sakho.

There’s no indication of what Crystal Palace would expect from such a move.
