It seems Aston Villa may be considered one of the strongest clubs to get Orkun Kokcu signed from Feyenoord.
The reason for that is a story today from Portuguese newspaper Record , who talk about Benfica’s wish to land the 22-year-old.
The piece points out that despite the Eagles’ strong desire to get the midfielder signed, they should find some difficulty because of the interest from clubs with ‘bigger financial power’.
That’s where Aston Villa are brought in. Record knows that most English clubs have more money to invest than Benfica, and there’s no big hope the Eagles could fight the Villans in this battle.
Unai Emery’s side are just one of the clubs who are said to be willing to take Kokcu to the Premier League, as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are all named in the story as well. Record also says that French and Italian sides should try his signing too.
Aston Villa’s interest in the player had already been revealed by the Dutch media in April. Back then, it was claimed they were ‘regular visitors’ scouting him this season.
