Djurgården are expecting to receive a ‘substantial’ amount of money from Jacob Widell Zetterström’s potential exit from Derby County.
That’s according to Fotboll Direkt. The newspaper reports that Djurgården are set to receive a substantial pay-off from the potential deal.
Reports this week have linked Zetterström with a move to the Premier League. Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Brentford are all reportedly keen.
Derby County have been clear that if he were to leave, they want a big fee for him. That’s currently around €15m, or 183 million kronor in Sweden. If that fee became a reality, Djurgården would be ‘big winners’ from the deal.
According to Fotboll Direkt’s information, Djurgården have a resale clause on the goalkeeper worth 20%. That would secure them around 30 million kronor in the event of a sale, around €2.84m.
Derby County exit would provide boost
They already received 20 million kronor, €1.75m, when they sold the goalkeeper to Derby County in 2024. If they were to receive their 20%, it would make Zetterström the best goalkeeper sale in Allsvenskan history. That would be total earned from his transfers, to be clear. So, the original fee and anything on top if an exit happens this month or in future.
The Swedish side are very much rubbing their hands together. The Zetterström deal 18 months ago could end up bringing in even more than they anticipated.
In November, the goalkeeper said he’s pleased with Premier League links, as it means he must be doing something right.
