Earlier today, L’Equipe explained Crystal Palace have taken the lead in the chase for VfL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix.
It was also stated the Premier League side have made an offer and have started talks to sign the defender. L’Equipe didn’t specify if the Eagles held talks with the Bundesliga side or his camp.
This claim is relayed by Kicker, who then share Wolfsburg’s stance on the possibility of the 24-year-old joining Crystal Palace this summer.
Kicker state the London club could ‘possibly’ be ‘getting serious’ about the Frenchman, who played under Oliver Glasner at Wolfsburg during the 2020/21 season.
At this moment in time, the German club ‘don’t know anything’ about Crystal Palace’s offer or their desire to secure Lacroix’s services.
It’s claimed Wolfsburg sporting leadership, led by sporting director Peter Christiansen, haven’t been contacted yet by Glasner’s side for the centre-back. Therefore, ‘it’s difficult’ for them to discuss his possible sale to Crystal Palace.
Lacroix has less than a year left on his deal and L’Equipe has reported that he has refused to sign an extension. Kicker say he continues to maintain a ‘high level of commitment and professionalism’ at Wolfsburg.
