Belgian side Charleroi have been left disappointed by reports of Everton making an €8m bid for Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua.
That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who report that such a deal would be a shame for the Belgian side given they sold him for less just a few days ago.
Charleroi only officially sold Tchatchoua to Hellas Verona on July 1st, with his loan deal at the Italian side having been made into a permanent switch.
He enjoyed a good first year at the Italian club and had been linked with a move to Inter Milan, but Everton have now reportedly pushed forward and made an €8m bid for him.
If he were to move for such a figure that would be a ‘real shame’ for Charleroi, who would obviously see a very nice sum go to a different club shortly after selling their player.
In other words, they’d be pretty frustrated to see Tchatchoua move to Everton this summer for €8m when they’ve just sold him for €3m as they’ve essentially missed out on €5m more in profit.
It all depends on Everton actually buying the defender this summer, of course, but if they do and for €8m or more, then Charleroi will be watching on cursing their luck.
This is why you need to secure big sell-on clauses, Charleroi.
