On Tuesday, we relayed news from Gazzetta dello Sport that Chelsea and Arsenal’s interest in Aleksandr Golovin had forced CSKA to up their asking price for the midfielder.

On top of that, the Italian newspaper suggested that Roman Abramovich could use his power to ‘influence’ his compatriots into selling the Russia star to him instead of elsewhere.

Well, Wednesday’s edition of the very same paper believes that won’t be an issue, as the 23-year-old doesn’t particularly have an interest in moving to Stamford Bridge, with the Gunners forgotten from the story altogether.

In fact, Golovin is said to want one club and one club only: Juventus.

The problem with this is that CSKA know their prized asset is in high demand, and their asking price of €30m is too much for Juventus, who have so far only offered €19m + 10% of any future sale.

That, as you can imagine, hasn’t been accepted by the Russian club, and we’ll have to wait and see if the Serie A champions come back with a better bid.

If they don’t, and Chelsea are still in the mix by that point, perhaps Golovin will have a change of heart if he doesn’t want to stay in Moscow for an extra year.
