Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil has ended up on Sevilla’s radar in the winter market.
On Thursday, Gil’s father admitted the La Liga side “is his home” and their manager, Jorge Sampaoli, has been chasing the forward for the last three years.
The 21-year-old left Sevilla for Tottenham in 2022 and hasn’t enjoyed regular game time at the north London club. This has seen him look for a way out in January and his former club have emerged as an option.
According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, the Spaniard would not be against returning to the Andalusian club this month. He would be delighted to join Sampaoli’s side and has ‘even agreed’ economic terms with them.
The ‘inconvenience is being caused by Tottenham’ as Antonio Conte’s side don’t want to send the player out on loan. Instead, they want a definitive sale in the current window.
Sevilla are not willing to take Gil permanently, even through the loan with an obligation to buy formula proposed by Spurs. Despite the difference, both clubs ‘continue negotiating’.
Sevilla are trying to convince Tottenham that a good loan spell could revalue Gil and this could improve the options to sell him in the summer.
